Klekovača
Open competition / Jean Pierre Dürig

Due to minimal and strict intervention the landscape at the foot of Klekovača on the Kozila Plateau remains as intact as possible. The linear elements of the planned ski-lift crossing the landscape are the model for the insertion of the built structures. Whilst they form a radical incision in the landscape, they nevertheless leave it almost entirely intact.
The lineally organized main resort centre emerges along an existing route in the Kozila valley basin. The buildings for the use of the tourist houses, the health resort, the skiing plateau and the golf hotel consist mostly of linear or point-formed elements. These are arranged along the existing road, which already leads around the valley.
Again the landscape is left as intact as possible, in this case by using a small strip of land along the road.
The new tourist site in the mountains is not modeled on a romanticized village or urban layout. On the contrary, the resort is to be read as an artificial infrastructure element in the landscape, inserted similarly to a bridge, a tunnel or a dam. Such equivalent infrastructure projects are cultural achievements, and as such their clear contrasts respect the natural beauty of the areas they provide access to or transverse.
