The 3rd Belgrade
New programmatic and spatial concept of collective living
The conducted research was questioning the possibility of transformation of a wider, not inhabited area of Belgrade on the left bank of Danube river – The Third Belgrade.
The project for a new city is based on the understanding of programmatic and spatial concepts of collective living. The theme of this project is the relation of the nature of living and urban landscape. It reacts specifically to the non existence of architectural context by taking the existing forest and adding the new city into it. The idea is to be in Belgrade and at the same time out of it.
The proposal of having a living structure in the forest creates a specific typology adapted to the setting. The individual modules are reduced in their size to offer a maximum of involvement in this surrounding. Towers, besides offering an orientation in space and acting as central points, also give a hint that here is something to exist.
