The history research work was written for the “Meetings with the past 2006/2007” contest organized by Young researchers of Serbia, Euroclio and Eustory History Network for young Europeans, Körber Stiftung, Hamburg. The work won the 1st prize. One part of the prize included residency grant in Berlin in Körber Stiftung Foundation, where a set of researches, interviews and interventions were conducted with a topic of “Shared values for Europe – The Impact of Islam, Judaism, Christianity on the Identity of Europe”.
The history research text got published in “Župski zbornik – Magazine for historical, cultural and natural research of Župa, Zavičajni muzej Župe, Aleksandrovac, 2008.”
Summary
The main subject of this research is the women’s position in Aleksandrovac and its surrounding villages in the first half of 20th century. The special attention is given to a period between two World Wars and their influence on the lives of young women. The research was carried out by interviews and historical sources like photographs, handmades and the use of available literature.
